For certain existing CHP plants, stricter NOx requirements will apply from 1 January 2029. SES supports operators with a free and non-binding initial technical assessment to identify potential action at an early stage and plan any necessary retrofit measures in good time.
Whether a retrofit is required depends on the individual plant
Relevant factors include thermal input, approval status, operating hours, plant configuration and current emission levels.
An SCR retrofit involves more than simply installing a catalyst. Exhaust gas routing and back pressure, structural conditions, urea supply, control and measurement technology as well as maintenance and shutdown periods all need to be considered during planning and implementation.
Early planning provides greater certainty
Operators who identify the need for action at an early stage can assess technical solutions in good time, plan delivery and installation capacities and coordinate the required work with scheduled maintenance or plant shutdowns. This also makes it easier to take component availability and expected costs into account.
Free initial technical assessment
SES offers operators a free and non-binding initial assessment of their existing plant. Based on the available plant data, we assess the potential modernisation requirements, the general technical feasibility of an SCR retrofit and the most appropriate next steps.
